Islam=Peace?

Yet again we find ourselves in the middle of a religious war. Yes we are again at war. Our embassies both in Bengahzi and Cairo have been burned and two Marines and an ambassador are dead. For the life of me I can't remember a time in my life time when a negative comment against Christianity was made and a full scale attack was launched. I am really trying to remember one. Again as eleven years ago the "Moderate" voices of the Islamic faith are silent. No condemnation, no rebuke, just silence that to me equals acceptance. CAIR quickly comes out when there is opposition of some Muslim project or discrimination takes place. Where are they now when human life is lost? Silent. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the Marines and the ambassador.

The Whitehouse quickly putting it's tail between it's leg and apologising for the film and the free speech that "caused" these peaceful Muslim people to kill three human beings in cold blood. Yet who has sent the prime minister of Israel an apology for the diplomatic snub yesterday. I think we see a pattern in who's allegiance is more important to this president. Why are we so afraid of just telling the world the truth about Islam and just letting the end come? We are the most powerful entity on the planet. We took on the Soviet Union and ran it into the ground, but when some third world rabble rouse yells, "Allah Akbar",  we run for cover and cower. We need to put an end to this gentleness toward radical Islam lately and put a boot on the neck again.

Who are we? Are we that weak and defeated as a people? Has this economic downturn broken our warrior spirit? Did we forget these last four years that WE make the world a better and freer place? We need to remember that as Americans, black, white, Latino, whatever, we bring order and democracy to the entire planet. Will we let a religion, any religion dominate us or control us, I say no.

Holy War

Quiet Strength - Religious & Spiritual Books

What are the sides that are currently poised to a new battle front, the religious. So maybe not new just a new wave of us vs them. All throughout history men have fought to prove who's God was God. Millions killed in different names when most of the Gods represented were known for tolerance and love. Are their faith's that call for the death of non believers? Logically why would a God destroy potential worshippers? Do we not have the choice to change up until the point of our death? We have seen in our previous interview that some followers of Islam have made that interpretation in the Koran that those that do not bow the knee should be given no quarter. Can we compare that same fervor in modern times to the Crusades or the Inquisition? Christianity has sacrificed millions also in the name of Jehovah. Why did Christianity evolve from it's more corrupt and brutal form, to today's modern more pensive faith? Is Islam poised to make the same progress to a faith of acceptance and gentleness?

How did Christianity do it? Rebels! Rebels within the faith that decided that they had drifted far enough. These "Heretics" called for reform and a return to a more fundamental understanding of the faith. There were calls to educate the masses, which in turned caused the basis follower to actually know for himself what was in their faiths writings. There was a populist movement within the major sects of the time which pushed back on Dogma and tradition. Another reason for the change to non violence were the major waves of prayer and mediation to be more connected to the Creator. It is very difficult to be torturing or blowing oneself up when your on your knees in prayer. Separating itself from politics. Once a faith involves itself in running a nation there is very little room for alternative opinions. The better and equal treatment of women was the last reform made by those in the Christian faith.

Could there be out there a voice within Islam that is calling for these changes? What would happen to a person like that who would take a public and vocal opposition  to the growing radical segments of that faith?

Though I do espouse to the Realistic ideals and politics, faith is something that is part of our lives and should be addressed. The recent incident where my writings were silenced have compelled me to fight against the powers that fight against  free speech of any form. Nazi, KKK, black panther, atheist, Satanist, they all should be allowed a voice, however the powers that be should never silence the voices against them.

Islam?

I think we need to take a look at how dangerous Fundamentalist Islam is to our Realistic world view. One of the reasons we will focus this week on Islam is due to the current political events in a former allie Egypt. Some very inflammatory quotes coming for the newly elected president has him on the radar for anyone looking for a potential tinderbox. I personally do not feel that any political organization that has a religion in their name can be any good to freedom. I feel that we have the right to exercise our faith wherever we want. I don't feel we have the right to impose our faith, ever. Islam has within it's teachings a premise or commandment to rule over it's followers. Christianity attempted this misdeed early in it's history and abandoned it as not being part of its mission, and biblically so. I am interviewing Dawn Ellen, an online activist that focuses on the lack of women's rights in Islam. Dawn has a good command on the Koran so I will have that interview soon.

So what are the dangers of Islam for Realism? Islam as practiced in the middle east and other parts of the world tends to have little room for other faiths or atheism. When the rubber meets the road Islam requires you to follow the commandments of The Koran above government or societal equalities. With Realism we require nothing of our citizens except that they treat others as they would treat themselves. The golden rule of the bible applies. There is no forced proselytizing in Realism you believe what makes you happy. The Kafir or infidel in Islam is seen as someone to be dominated, turned and destroyed if not converted. This leaves little room for free will in a society ruled by Sharia law. We have seen the creep of Sharia in the US and states have even placed legislation into place to prevent it's implementation.

The problem of radical Islam is one that is commonly discussed. I feel that Islam as a whole should be confronted.
