Habeus Corpus

I have a suspicious nature. I don't often trust anyone. I see everyone as evil first until they prove themselves to me. Now I am not a conspiracy theorists when it come to government plots to control the population. A story that came out of the Rutherford Institute yesterday has throw a wrench in my normalcy. I former marine was arrested for some anti government remarks on Facebook. As far as I know there where no imminent threats or threats of violence. The Marine was just blowing steam about what he felt was wrong with our countries government. I a scene that was right out of the Soviet Union. The FBI along with local authority came and snatch this guy up and is holding him against his and his lawyers will in a military psychiatric hospital. There is even video posted on YouTube of the arrest.

Having had to make numerous arrest using a mental health warrant here in Texas I am familiar with the procedure. The person has to convince me they are a danger to themselves and the public. They have to vocalise it not just imply it. So I write a short report, then take them to an emergency mental health facility. The person can be there as long as a few days. I have not heard of a case where someone I arrested was in there for longer. I have heard of being released early. The Marine has been in there a month, no charges, no real judicial oversight. I guess habeus corpus is officially dead after this detention. As I understand from my more right wing and left wing friends the Patriot act is the root of this type of behavior by American Law Enforcement. If these accusations are true I pray those officials are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

You may be right. I may be crazy

Nothing ruins a good blog like a complicated life. Murphy's Law and such has kept me from posting on a regular basis. So my apologies to the hundreds from all over the world who read ricantotheright. So with that let's see what's down the rabbit hole.

I have really tried to take a more Libertarian view of the world as I have grown older. I have become more tolerant of different points of views and beliefs. Tolerant is the key word. Though I say to each his own, I want you to understand that I am not saying we are all right. No I am very narrow minded in that I believe there are absolute "Rights" and "Wrongs". I believe in Jesus is the Messiah and that a conservative view of politics makes things work. You can do or say whatever you want as long as it does not interfere with my closed minded view of the world. I have no problem not being flexible on some of my ideas. So many people today just are blown around every which way like a plastic bag in the wind. One of the beliefs that is keeping me out of the Libertarian way is my outright push for preemptive strikes against countries that are planning on doing us harm. I liken it to a military vaccination. You don't wait to get the disease before you inoculate, you do it before. That's my logic and I am sticking to it.

So you may be right, I may be crazy to think this way. I know the potential to develop more generations of enemies with this doctrine. However when your enemies are always hiding in caves it's hard to make little terror babies to follow you into the afterlife. Funny though I don't agree with the current position of just Predator droning everything that moves. What ever happened to good ole grab a guy in the field and do a little water boarding to gain intelligence. We don't capture anyone anymore. Oh how I miss the good old days of says and counterintelligence. It was romantic. It took finesse to blackmail an enemies operatives to give up the goods on their countries valuable secrets.  Now it's Jihad and Hellfire missiles, not very elegant if you ask me. So what is a lover of cold war tactics to do? CIA when will you get back to wonder years of spy gadgets and sleeping with the enemy? I am your biggest fan!

I want my vote to count

I have a few libertarian friends on line. They are supporting Gary Johnson I believe to president. I would love to be able to vote for a candidate with his views, however he has no hope of beating Obama. This is the Achilles heal of our political system. The two party system has killed real democracy. Not since Perot have we had a real third party candidate that make the grassroot excited enough to jump off the two party train.

Now that Debbie Wassermann Schultz called Paul Ryan an "Ayn Rand" follower I am all in for him. I hate the two party system. I do not really fit into either perfectly. I offend some on both sides so being embraced by the base is a pipe dream. I hate abortion but I would legalize cannabis. I believe in personal freedom but I believe we should recycle. I love guns but I don't think just anyone should have them. I can't join the libertarians because I believe in preemptive war. I am an outcast.

I wear my Nomad patch with pride. I vote Republican nearly always because I have yet to find a Democratic candidate who is moderate enough for me here in Texas. The Texas Democratic is like a San Francisco drag queen, they want to strut and flaunt their most extreme wares and I am not buying.

Liar, liar, pants on fire

I have been in bed for nearly five days sick with streptococcal infection. The infection built fluid around my heart and lungs and I was admitted to the hospital. The doctors thought that I had had a heart attack, but after extensive testing it was just the infection causing the symptoms. Thank goodness I live in an era where there is technology to see through the false symptoms caused. I may have been under the knife years ago for nothing. Go back some sixty years ago this type of infection would have ended my life. So I am slowly recovering and wake up to the continued issue of another infection creeping around the nation. The disease of the lie. A lie perpetuated by the Senate majority leader Harry Reid.

How insipid of a plan. Go on the floor of the Senate and spew this lie. Most people dont realise that since it was said on official time he can't be prosecuted for it. Reid can't be forced to tell the truth. There are no antibiotics for these infections. The only thing Romney can do is use truth and allow the lie to run it's course and burn out, which it has. I was able to see the usual suspects out there helping fan the infection like Wassermann and Carney saying the president was ignorant of it. I could just imagine Barry giggling in the background, fist bumping Biden. The great republic reduced to grade school playground tactics.

Short one for today, still weak.

When a bleeding heart becomes a whine.

My pastor friend never ceases to amaze me. I love to catch his post, because it always gets my juices flowing. So this morning after the millions of people who went out to support Chick Fil A, he said the crowds made him "Weep". Like Christ wept for Jerusalem. Now I am not down playing his emotions or saying his emotions weren't sincere. What I did confront him and the followers on his page was the use of the word hate to justify their sadness. The pastor immediately went for the jugular and suggested that those who supported the restaurant chain yesterday support hate for LGBT persons. Some on his feed in called them bigots and haters and oppressors. One even mocked that their consumption of the food who pay them back by killing them. There seems to be no limit to what the bleeding hearts will say when someone disagrees with them.

So I pointed out the plank in their own eyes. That no one making a comment on the thread did the Christ like command and love his enemy, bless those that curse you. That there was no offer of reaching across the culture to come to an understanding of the opposing side, no, I hate you were the words coming from the supporters of the LGBT movement. What made it more shocking was that it was in the name of Christ. WWJD, I doubt he would call me names. Though he did get anger he did not sin. I saw a lot of misbehavior and sin in this comments. The exact opposite of what they want from us, tolerance and understanding. It seems a common theme for the religious left to point the finger and the right, instead of opening that hand in the spirit of brotherhood.

I did not cry yesterday. I felt a sense of awe that a nation, yes a nation would come to defend a persons right to say what they want. My pastor friend was critical of those who thought they were defending the constitution. Some of his church even compared Chick Fil A to the old segregated restaurants here in the south 50 years ago. Yet never, not once were LGBT told they could not come and join in and dine. That plank in my friends eye was more like a railroad tie. I find it said to be lumped into a definition of hate. After I defended that community for years, I feel I have earned the title of friend to it. That what I believe should be tolerated and defended just as they would want me to do the same. The problem is that they don't want me to be different. The LGBT community wants me to change, to say I am wrong.

For that community it's your for us or against us, shame really, I never felt that way about them.

Rahm it home

So it completely backfired. The Rahm speech about Chicago values blew up in his face. Looks like 21 million went to a Chick Fil A just as I predicted. These politicians are not your normal run of the mill American. They are a dangerous brand of progressive globalist that do not like traditional American freedoms and values. So when someone publicly brings values to their attention they can't believe that a man of such commercial power would have conservative beliefs. The only weapon in their toolbox is to name call and label. Progressives want to Europefy us. The idea of America is stomach churning to them. They want to open our borders and meld us into a mutt nation with no identity. Everything goes should be their platform.

I do not support gay marriage. I go love my friends who are gay. I will treat those around who are gay with dignity, love and respect. I will have my opinion and disagree with their way of life. As a police officer I had the same stance and protected their persons and property just as if I did when I worked in a majority breeder neighborhood. After years patrolling their neighborhood here in Dallas I got a soft spot for them after seeing the constant suicides and crimes against them. I may have even worked a little harder to make sure I didn't treat them any different.

So today I had a grilled chicken sandwich combo.
