Edjumacation

How would we as Realist educate our children? Would the modern classroom filled with bland structure and standardized testing suffice? Do we teach to instruct or to prepare? How has the current education system failed to arm all of us with the knowledge to live productive lives? We have to put a good portion of blame on our country's education system, for the current lack of productivity and inventiveness. The last four years are the proof of the failed liberal/socialist indoctrination experiment in our schools. How can Realism bring us out of it?

After returning the responsibility of educating our children to the lowest level possible, we would immediately bring an end to the department of education. With all of the variations in our society there should be no one way to instruct our children. What needs to be learned in New York City should be different than what's taught in the middle of the corn fields in Iowa. It is a parents role to lead and help raise the next generation. The Realist parent would understand the path his child is heading towards and individualize the curriculum to make the most of their child's strengths and goals.

There is parental control and that is where the control should be. The teacher is the specialist that shares information in our system. The educator does not try to brainwash or sway children with his or her opinion. Parents return to the position of leadership in shaping the thoughts of their children. Parents should be given the also on where they want to educate their children. Home, online, a public system are all permissible. Testing would be based on what the local level feel children should know in preparation for not only work, but life in general, real life.
