Islam?

I think we need to take a look at how dangerous Fundamentalist Islam is to our Realistic world view. One of the reasons we will focus this week on Islam is due to the current political events in a former allie Egypt. Some very inflammatory quotes coming for the newly elected president has him on the radar for anyone looking for a potential tinderbox. I personally do not feel that any political organization that has a religion in their name can be any good to freedom. I feel that we have the right to exercise our faith wherever we want. I don't feel we have the right to impose our faith, ever. Islam has within it's teachings a premise or commandment to rule over it's followers. Christianity attempted this misdeed early in it's history and abandoned it as not being part of its mission, and biblically so. I am interviewing Dawn Ellen, an online activist that focuses on the lack of women's rights in Islam. Dawn has a good command on the Koran so I will have that interview soon.

So what are the dangers of Islam for Realism? Islam as practiced in the middle east and other parts of the world tends to have little room for other faiths or atheism. When the rubber meets the road Islam requires you to follow the commandments of The Koran above government or societal equalities. With Realism we require nothing of our citizens except that they treat others as they would treat themselves. The golden rule of the bible applies. There is no forced proselytizing in Realism you believe what makes you happy. The Kafir or infidel in Islam is seen as someone to be dominated, turned and destroyed if not converted. This leaves little room for free will in a society ruled by Sharia law. We have seen the creep of Sharia in the US and states have even placed legislation into place to prevent it's implementation.

The problem of radical Islam is one that is commonly discussed. I feel that Islam as a whole should be confronted.
